But the article failed to recognize one key trend and, consequently, was far too pessimistic about our likely continued dependence on oil for transport. As Bloomberg analysts observed this year, battery prices have been falling much more rapidly than predicted and are where the International Energy Agency projected they would be in 2020. Tesla projects a further 30 percent reduction from increased production and manufacturing improvements.
