The agency, which is required by Executive Order 13693 to start reducing greenhouse gas emissions from federal fleet vehicles in 2016, originally sent out the RFI on Oct. 30 with a deadline of Nov. 23 for response. The request was updated on Jan. 4 as GSA officials seek information on the technology and data management systems needed for the charging stations that will power a fleet of electrically charged vehicles. Executive Order 13693, which was introduced in March 2015, requires the federal government to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 30 percent from 2014 levels by 2025. To achieve this, the GSA is required to increase hybrid and electric vehicle to 20 percent of all new acquisitions by 2020 and 50 percent of all new acquisitions in 2025. The RFI is looking for solutions from industry stakeholders for the following end-to-end systems: -Level II electric vehicle charging station equipment that will meet agency requirements Vehicle-level transactional data -Easy data transmission and collection -Installation arrangements, including site planning, permitting, ancillary materials and labor -24-hour customer service access for charging station maintenance issues and data access issues -Stakeholders will have until 4 p.m. Jan. 8 to submit a response to ontheroad @gsa.gov GSA officials expect a request for quote to follow later in 2016.
