Oh, yes you do. ;-) I'm not going to name names, but my own experience shows that there's at least one battery manufacturer whose instructions, if followed to the letter, will murder their batteries by overcharging them. I personally have killed more lead batteries with overcharging than with undercharging. Your mileage may vary. Lee and Bill are engineers. They both have a LOT of years of experience with lead batteries in EVs. They both know what they're talking about. Not to be too strident about it, but if you disregard their advice, well, you deserve the results you get.
