They do use a 14-50 male plug to go from the claw to the EVSE. There is a
switch to switch between the 14-50 40 amp and a 120v 20 amp normal wall type
plug.This was made in 1997. They use the Neutral or bottom connector across
from the ground to carry what I think is a pilot signal. Yes on the back side
the white wire goes to a fuse and then to a module which I think generates the
pilot signal. Not sure if I under stand what the small green wire in the claw
is for but if it is like a DS-50 the blue wire is pilot. Lawrence
