Like I said in previous messages, I have replaced the Avcon "claw" with a 
current J1772 connector. I got the connector from Rush at TusconEV. It works 
fine with my 2011 Leaf.

You have this correct. The pin on the 14-50 socket that is typically used as 
neutral in standard applications is used for the pilot signal in the MCS100.

My 14-50 to J1772 cable for the MCS100 is in downtown San Jose, but it is 
plugged into the MCS100.
