I'll guess it's primarily based on economy of scale. Those models with huge numbers of sales are cheaper to make here. Those with small numbers (and no economy of scale) are cheaper to make where labor is cheaper.

Odd though that they're using that source for a luxury car. That's new.

Will it mean a lower price and thus more EV sales?  It's a Cadillac, so
don't hold your breath. I suspect this is about increased profit per car,
not customer benefit.
