Minnesota Power unveiled a new addition to their company- a plug in hybrid
vehicle to help with daily operations.

The electric powered truck is the first of it's kind to operate in Duluth's
colder climate. It may look like a regular truck but it includes more
environmentally friendly features and performs at a quieter noise level,
which is very different from the trucks used now.

"This solves a long standing problem-having to have a truck idling whenever
we're doing our work so we're really excited to have this new technology to
do that. Our trucks burn a lot less fuel, have lower emissions and it is
better for the environment overall," said Dan Gunderson, Director of
Distribution Operations at Minnesota Power.

Minnesota Power has already begun using the truck. The company says after
the first truck's test run, they will be looking to add more electric
vehicles to their fleet in upcoming years.
