Unfortunately government grants rarely lead to a production vehicle. That sort
of thing is a waste of taxpayer money IMO.

It's about time.  Not only will hybrid vehicles of this sort improve
fuel efficiency but the need to idle while waiting at lights, creeping
in traffic, loading & unloading, operating lift gates, etc. will go
away.   Along with the particulates and fumes.  And the drowning clatter
of the engines.  Yes !
