It seems it was the simple solution.  Apparently my 2013 and 2012 Leafs(which I 
just turned in) won't charge but someone suggested the timer is the problem and 
on my 2013 there is a timer off button.  I opened the charge port pressed the 
timer off and now with the help of the green button the nice lady says "full 
charge".  Success.  It seems the Leaf timer is always on and must be turned off 
on some old EVSE.  Maybe that is the problem with the MCS 100.  I wouldn't be 
surprised.Lawrence Rhodes
