> Hard to say if hotels, motels are a good venue for charge points,
Disagree. Every hotel should offer numerous L1 outlets and a few L2.

> 1... most people driving far enough to need a hotel aren't driving an
EV.
But will most likely in future be driving a PHEV.

> 3. Level 1 charging won't be enough for people driving long distances.
True. But then L2 can do overnight charging up to 200 miles with 7.5 kW
cords

The EV Paradigm is charging while parked, and most EV's are parked while
the driver is sleeping. So, EV travelers will be parked overnight at
hotels.

We have had some success in getting Hotels to put up EV CHARING OUTLET
signs over their existing outdoor L1 outlets as a means of showing their
support (at no cost other than the cost of the sign).

See http://aprs.org/EV-charging-signs.html

Though our one big chain Hotel had to take the sign down, when "corporate"
came visiting. They could still offer the guest to plug in, but corporate
did not want the sign.
