Isn't that what a trickle charger does? I know lots of people who leave them on all the time.

But what happens if no one uses the cabin for months? NiCd's can absorb such small overcharge, but I assume Lead Acid will everntully be dried out? Lets assume the car battery is 30 Amp hours. Therefor the daylight trickle charge is at a 0.001C rate. Probably barely makes up for self discharge.
