Austrian operator A1 announced the opening of an electric charging station at another one of its phone booths, in Gross-Enzersdorf. Near a major intersection, the solar-powered station can charge all sorts of electric vehicles. A1 will sponsor free charging in the pilot phase, and users can activate the system over SMS or with a RFID card. A1 has opened charging stations at 24 locations across Austria since 2010 as part of efforts to support the transition to sustainable power.
