This is false. A hydrogen fuel cell vehicle *is* electric. Every bit of it.
The article correctly states that the vehicle is electric drive. The only difference is where you *store* the energy. It stores it in both a battery and the hydrogen (so yes, it’s a hybrid), and there is no combustion. As far as fossil-derived, the amount of hydrogen for transportation derived from fossil fuels has been *less* than that of the grid, at least here in California. So is it fair to say that battery electrics are not EVs because the electricity comes from fossil fuels?
