This happened to me over a decade ago when I was driving a Ford Th!nk Neighbor. I pulled over before being totally stranded and talked to a lady raking leaves. She said I could plug in for a little while till she had do leave. I offered to pay but she refused. I got enough to get home. People are willing to help if you ask nicely.
