Somebody in my area has a 2012 leaf with about 50,000 miles on it and when
they went to Drive it the other day it would not go and after taking it to
the dealer showed some era codes saying the Ptc heater insulation was not
up to specs also the "dc to dc jb with and open circuit". Dealer wants
$5,000 to fix this so I have an opportunity 2 try my hand at this that I
don't know how the computer and other stuff work. I could pay someone for
some consultation help in hopes of getting the job and getting something
done. After the car was at the dealers the dealer said that the car was
charged and that he should not charge it again or else it would go back
into the same shut down mode. Car drives fine and shows 7 bars of charge
but he has not plugged it in since he got it back from the dealer. Anybody
have any ideas or any other information I can get to explain the problem.

I have little real knowledge of this problem but it sounds like something a friend has researched:
1) will not charge
2) the problem is a trivial cost diode located in the battery pack
3) stealers want $5k to fix
4) a YouTube video explains that a fix is placing diode in/near the charge port for a minor cost

If that sounds like your problem, I'll find the YouTube link for you.
