I have a 21 mile commute to work. On the coldest days I barely make it to
work in my 2014 Volt with the heat cranked up all the way. I drive for comfort
and don't drive conservative. I pay .10/kWhr at work and 0.13/kWhr at home.
The only time I use gas is when I don't commute to work and have to take a
trip. On the weekends I often drive more than the Volt range but usually stop
at home and plug in, so I can top off and drive more electric miles. Regarding
charge stations I only use the one in the parking deck at work in Kent, OH
which is only 0.1/kWhr, cheaper than my house. I have 240V for home charging
but can always plug into a 120V outlet. A retired teacher in my neighborhood
also has a 2014 Volt. She only plugs into 120V in the garage, but doesn't
drive much, so it's still mostly EV. I think for the majority of drivers that
don't have a long commute, 120V at the house or garage is fine, so there are
millions of charge stations already installed.

If the gasoline in your tank contains ethanol and you use none of it
for several months you may have to replace it with fresh gasoline.
