I received a note from an EVDLer who's having some kind of problem posting.
We haven't figured out what it is yet, but I suspect that her email address
has changed in some way, so that she can receive (some) EVDL mail but can't
send any.

While I work on fixing the problem, here's what she wanted to post. If
you're interested, please contact me offlist and I'll put you in touch with
her.

DO NOT just reply to this message at [email protected]; I won't see it!

You can get my offlist address here:

I am finally ready to let go of my beloved 2002 silver Toyota Rav4EV.  It is
located in Mountain View, CA, and I am the original owner.

It has 139,000 miles on the original battery pack, and comes with the
charger, which is also original.  It has the capacitor fix and magnets on
the air vents.  It has been living in the garage its whole life until last
month.

It still runs, for some definition of the word "run".  The driver must be
very careful about accelerating and keep an eye on the voltmeter to make
sure it doesn´t drop too low and light up the turtle warning light.  I´m
told accelerating too fast can cause the car to turn off but I have not
experienced that.

It can accelerate slowly up to 60 miles/hour, but may not be able to sustain
that speed when going up a hill.  It does seem to be holding steady at its
original range of about 20 miles per quarter charge, but for the last year I
have rarely driven it far enough to drop below half a charge.

I gave up timed charging over a year ago, because I would often wake up to a
red error light on the charger.  Since then charging has become more
problematic and for the last 2 months it has rarely charged for more than 20
minutes before either showing the red light or showing full (when not full).
For the last month I have only been driving it a few miles at a time and
keeping it as charged as it will allow, between 3/4 and 7/8 full.

It has never been in a major crash.  It has 18 years worth of scratches,
scrapes and little dents, including 3 very small, perfectly circular dents
caused by being shot with a BB gun (no, I don´t know why someone would shoot
my car).   The interior also has 18 years of wear, with the driver seat
showing the most wear.

The tires are old, the wipers need to be replaced, and the front brakes are
squealing, which means the front brake pads need to be replaced.  There is a
very small crack in the windshield.  The heated windshield stopped working
long ago.  I think everything else is working.

If you´re interested, I would like an offer that would cover my cost of
having the charger de-installed, and you would have to pick it up.   Please
email or call if you have any questions.

BTW, I am really loving my new 2019 Kia Niro EV.  It´s so much fun to be
able to drive fast again!
