I've been in contact with Lyle Hufstetler of aacog.com
Alamo Area Clean Cities Coalition to gather more detail
of this 2020 year's Earth Day EVent, displaying plugins,
talking to the public, giving rides, etc.

Last year's 2019 EVent was quite good. Though they were
only alloted room for 3 plugins (a 1st gen Leaf, Tesla-3,
EVs and a Volt pih), the foot traffic was excellent (we
helped a lot of people know EVs that day). I was quite
pleased that Texans were hungry for EV knowledge.

So much so that EVent begain @10am. The Texas sky was
blue with large fluffy white clouds billowing across.
As time passed, people were hugging their free native
tree another booth had given them, while we talked EVs
with them.

Then those clouds got dark, then a 3 inch down pour
sheeting the roadways, then ice-cube size hail came
down, then after 20 minutes of all of that, the sun
came out and dried all the soaked Texans still enjoying
hugging their free trees, and still talking EVs with us
(Texans are a tough breed).
I thought that day was a blast, and a great introduction
to Central South Texas life :-)

I've asked Lyle to create a listing on
https://driveelectricearthday.org/
and upload the EVent map he shared with me (it shows
where the EVs will display, give rides, etc.)

Lyle's email stated some EVent detail:
-
The “selfie trail” will guide visitors from the large vendor
area to the demo area. The EV demo will be in a
barricaded area along S Josephine Tobin Dr. City staff
will have people at each barricade who will be available
to move it for EVs to go in and out for ride-alongs. I’m
recommending exiting and entering from the northern
most barricade at S Josephine Tobin and Woodlawn Ave
to avoid the bulk of the pedestrian activity to the south.
The event is Saturday, April 18 from 10am-2pm, but I’m
recommending arriving at 9:30. If you have any questions
or concerns, let me know and I can forward them to the
event organizers ...

I hope to come about 9am to hunt for a parking space. I
recommend anyone telling others of the EVent, to come early
as you aren't parking in the park, but outside of it
(neighborhood streets & then you walk in), which fill up
quickly.

I hope to add another post to this thread later with an
update giving out the url of that EVent (showing details
& that map). Until then here is a google map of that
portion of the park the EVent will be held:

To get a taste of the public enjoying previous Earth Days
at that park, see the images on:

+more on all of this later :-)
