Ah, good; you solved it!

I'm using .HTM for my web page extensions. I wrote most of them with Windows 
2000's Notepad program, so 3-letter extensions were easier. It also lets me 
identify them as "web" pages, as opposed to plain text files.

PS: I learned HTML with Elizabeth Castro's excellent book "HTML for the World 
Wide Web" (4th edition, ISBN 0-201-35493-4). There are newer editions, but they 
quickly went over my head.
