The lack of an electric Ranger to replace my gas one, fifteen years ago, was
what got me into the EV business in the first place.

Yep, I too, am still waiting on an electric Ranger. Actually, more
specifically, I think I want an electric Rifter, now. Which will probably
happen first anyway. I wouldn’t say no to an electric Ranger Raptor, tho. :-)
I’ve had quite a few EV _cars_ though, and they’re starting to get a little
more truck-like. I always felt guilty about using a Model X for hauling.
I just ordered a Kuga PHEV, for the same reasons you’re citing. 37 mile
electric range, and 2,700 lbs towing capacity. I had a C-Max for a long time,
and essentially all the miles on it were electric. I think it had something
like 45k electric miles and 2k gasoline miles when we sold it.
