Awesome, fantastic info Jerry! yes glad again you are ok too and too bad about EV- hard to put a price on a one of a kind EV, like a lost art piece :-( Yes I am looking at running an AC setup - the Hyper9 X144 setup looks impressive. I am currently running a Motoenergy ME1003 on a 96V DC setup on an old 40hp 2 stroke that had burned itself up. I even added a copper coil around the ME1003 to help cool it with pumped lake water and avoid noisy fans. It runs great but 30hp max limits me to quaint efficient cruises. Would love to pull a tube or a skier even for just a few minutes. The lake I run it on is only 1.5 miles long and not much current. Yes getting amps to the water can be more harder than thought, I went through a couple props b4 finding one that worked well. A little note around converting outboards to EVs, you can lock the freewheel clutch in the bottom end so it can be spun in reverse without ratcheting. This will allow the electric motor to shift direction instead of retaining the cumbersome forward/reverse selector and cabling. Note most outboards can be spun backwards like this but not for long duration or heavy loads so be sure to use a reverse limit. I am also ABYC formally certified, wish I lived closer to you, would have a lot of fun working with you on all those cool projects!
