My 2011 LEAF which I have owned since 2015 has bit the dust.  I was involved in a fender bender with a much larger car (a Full Size Lincoln) about 16 months ago and while I drove home from the fender bender a lot of the cosmetic parts (hood, charge port cover, Front Bumper Cover) were damaged the car kept running and charging as it always had for the next 16 months.  Then the DMV came along and because it has a salvage title (I took it back from the Insurance Company) I need a safety inspection pass before I can register it again.

The DMV Certified safety inspector in my zip code thought he could get LEAF parts just like any other car and did not try very hard.  I asked him to work with me and give me the part numbers he needed and I would find them for much less that his sources and deliver them to him. We he did not believe I could do that and he was not about to give me a list of part numbers that would have been in the 40-70 parts range.  After he had the car about a week he told me that he just calls up his pals and says I need a flimflam flange and they send it too him.  So much for a safety inspector if he can't document what parts he puts on the car that he signs his name too.   So it boiled down to he was looking for a front clip at 3 to 4K so he would not have to get the parts one by one and then he would charge me $99 an hour to assemble it all.

So I have a 2011 LEAF with a messed up front end but everything else is in good condition that I need to get out of my garage or the wife says I can't get another car.

The car has about 64,000 miles on it and the original battery was replaced with the 2nd gen battery which has about 2,000 miles on it and full capacity bars.  Nissan gave me a great deal on the traction battery where I paid 20% and they paid 80% but I got no warranty for their generosity.  I purchased some of the large cosmetic parts for a lot less than the going rate and will include them(new hood unpainted, new charge port cover painted red, New front bumper cover un-painted).

Car still runs and drives straight and true.  If you want more details or pictures just send me a request at electric.carguyatgmail.com.

It would make a fine chassis to grow ideas and modifications on.
