Thanks Dave, Dave drove the EV's in the 80's for awhile, then parked them for 40 years, not sure why.
I think the Hornet was a Bob Aronson's EFP conversion. He drove it to work every day in the early 80's to Honeywell in Colorado Springs when I worked there - an SCR controller that whined but was reliable. Then just parked it in the back yard when the batteries died about 1984. The Electra Van was only driven for about a year and then parked next to the Hornet. The 1973 Thing was converted by Marathon in the early 80's & driven in the mid 80's until 1987 (tag), then parked with a canvas tarp kept over it but still in poor shape after 40 years of sitting. All 3 vehicles have the lead acid golf cart batteries split & acid leaked out long ago. Probably would want to remove the heavy lead to transport. And all vehicles would need complete refurbishment like I did on my Karman Ghia & Porsche 914 of yesteryear, new everything, wheel bearings, ball joints, brake lines, shoes, car seats etc. The only vehicle that was kept inside a shed is the original blue 1974ish City-Car. It's batteries have probably met a similar fate & I'd probably remove for transport. There's also a fairly new looking ZAP scooter for sale I saw that Dave McNeil (in Colorado Springs) owned. There's been a resurgence of interest in C-cars in recent years. It may have helped when the youtube personality Simone Giertz bought one ("Cheese Louise") around 10 years ago. It depends on condition of course. Running well and cosmetically nice can go for $5k or more. The VW Thing is definitely a collector's car. Generic home conversions unfortunately aren't much valued, unfortunately. In 2020, I sold our 1991 Ford Escort wagon conversion, along with a set of used NiFe batteries for it. It had some minor mechanical problems (iffy brakes, slushbox shifter stuck in Park) and was in fair shape cosmetically. It had been mostly garaged, had no rust. Batteries were out and needed an electrolyte change, so the buyer wasn't able to drive it home. I was asking $600. I let it go for a little over $250. YMMV. Good luck. I hope they find good homes.
