This is the request I received from the CeBIT contact person. While we applied as "Perl" we are going to present a number of projects. I think the descriptions we provide to CeBIT should include both a general text about Perl - the language - and text about each individual project we are going to be able to represent.
I'll need lots of help in this, both because I am not familiar with many projects and because my writing skills in English aren't that good. Also I am not sure, but I think adding a German version to the text would make a lot of sense. So which Perl project wants to be represented? Will you send a project member to represent it or would you help one of the participants to get up-to speed to show a demo and explain the benefits of your product/project? regards Gabor ps. I am going to blog about this soon, but I'd be happy if you already forwarded my request and the list of questions to the project(s) you are involved with. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Britta Wuelfing <[email protected]> Date: Tue, Jan 12, 2010 at 11:42 AM Subject: CeBIT Open Source - Project Lounge To: Gabor Szabo <[email protected]> Dear Gabor, thank you again for your application in the name of Perl, we're looking forward to meeting you in Hannover. We would like to introduce all projects on our websites www.linux-magazin.de and www.linuxpromagazine.com. Therefor we'd like to use a couple of questions we'd like you to answer: ----------------------------------------------------------- Q. Short and sweet: How would you describe your project in one or two sentences? Q. When did the project begin? Q. How many active members does the project have? Q. Why was the project created? Q. Why should a CeBIT visitor come to your booth? Q. Who do you make your software for? Q. Where do you see your biggest current challenges? Q. If you could hire a full-time project developer now, what problem should he or she be ready to solve? Q. Under which license is the software currently offered? Internet adress: --------------------------- A picture tells more than words: We can put up to 20 screen shots online, please send them in with captions! Since the CeBIT will send out a press information as well, and publish the info on their web sites, we kindly request you to send in the short description latest until February, 2. Thanks for your help!
