It is likely the same bug, as the fixing commit never made it to the mesa 9.2 branch and thus not into the evergreen mesa package. Backporting the patches to 9.2 should do the trick, but especially with nouveau, it is always better to use newer mesa version, as many bugs get fixed. Do you really need to use evergreen on systems with nouveau/nvidia?

Freshly zypper up'd multiboot host big41:
# zypper se -s nouveau | grep -v 32bit

   | libXvMC_nouveau | package | 9.2.3-61.9.1 | x86_64 | Update

i | libdrm_nouveau2 | package | 2.4.46-3.2.2 | x86_64 | OSS

Using VGA cable to LCD.
Same whether kernels 3.12.53-40-default, 3.12.51-1-desktop, 3.11.10-29-desktop.
Does not lockup on exit with onboard Intel GMA X4500 or PCIe AMD Cedar.
Does lockup on startx exit from TDE or IceWM with G84 and G98 PCIe GeForce.
Power switch or reset button required to regain keyboard response.
Using TDM greeter instead of startx returns normally to greeter on session exit.
No GeForce lockup exiting KDE4 or IceWM in 13.2 on same machine.

Are any of those uninstalled lib packages required for nouveau to work for Xorg?
Do I go ahead and file a bug on BOO? I searched past 48 months and didn't find
any match, open or closed, except for the above 866445 "fixed".
