Ian -- Just an historical note. While I agree, Open Space in the flesh is delightful, however the 1st Open Space (1985) was Hybrid. Wasn't planned that way. Just sort of happened. In that ancient time, Internet didn't exist -- but its precursor DARPA NET did, courtesy of the USARMY. A number of us out there in Monterey were part of a weird Army/Civilian organization called the Delta Force -- Celebrated on screen in the movie "Men who stare at goats." As our Open Space progressed we thought to bring in our friends and colleagues from around the world... Europe, Japan, Korea etc. It wasn't a massive number of people (10-15?) but they got hooked -- and a most remarkable thing happened -- All of our conference in Monterey went on Global Time 24/7. There was not a moment over the 3 days that something wasn't happening. Pretty wild for that ancient time!
