here are the notes from osonos 10 (marysville) and osonos 11 (swenmark)
from where all the notes were posted online, at the same moment that they
were posted on the wall at each venue. some lively discussion took place
online in both cases, including after the events finished.

these would have been very different if we'd had zoom back then 2002 and
2003.

we did this with wiki at the time, as google docs was also not yet
invented. today, this sort of globally shared documenting could happen
easily in a google doc rather than a wiki.

somewhere between a single physical location and hybrid with online
participation everywhere, there is a multi-(but few)-sites option: one
space per continent, perhaps. each one still an exciting gathering of
people from all over (mostly nearer than very far, but anyone could
continent-hop if they wanted to). the sites could all contribute to a
shared doc... thanks too google... and be linked together, with many
individuals, via zoom... and, of course, qiqochat. wouldn't have to be
limited to three sides of the globe, but that would seem to be the minimum
number of sites required to effectively encircle the globe. maybe each
physical location would set aside one breakout space where folks could
check in with other locations and individuals online. that might simply be
a "new and improved" "global hive" of the newsroom that we're already used
to finding at any multi-day OS gathering. where all the notes are being
typed directly to a globally shared doc, the three (or more) newsrooms are
all on shared zoom, and all kinds of buzzing and fluttering participants
might connect and eddy into various online breakout spaces. .

to the earlier oslist conversation about repeating in europe, this year and
potentially next year... what if we didn't delay europe next year, but
added an asian and an american location to it? three terrestrial gathering
points around the globe/clock, one online always-open coffee bar, and one
world-around community and a single online proceedings document?
