Tarrifs trigger responses like zero else. If it is as you claim then the
American people will rationally turn against The Donad and this should make you
happy! For me, I can either take or leave Keynes or Milton Freedman. This is my
Non-ideology feature. Or, as Bill Clinton once said, "We play the hand we're
dealt!" On other matters like Immigration, we are diamterically opposed. For
me, I wish to chnage the world through technology not politics. But I play the
hand I am dealt. I voted for Al Gore in the 2000 Chads election because I
wanted Hydrogen powered cars. That dodn't work out so good as eveb China,
Japan, and tghe ROK cannot build one the works in the human world, outside of
the lab.

Yes, the Smoot-Hawley tariffs (tariffs are just another name for a tax on the
middle class) turned a garden-variety recession into a deep global depression
that lasted for a decade. Even without Trump's idiocy, due to AI we'd be in
store for turbulent economic times even though national GDP will go up because
during the next three or four years tens of millions of Americans will lose
their jobs, in fact virtually all Americans could lose their jobs, so radically
new ways of distributing the nation's wealth are going to need to be devised to
keep people from starving to death. And lowering the tax on the super wealthy
and radically raising the tax on the lower and middle class, which is what
these tariffs will do, is a very poor way to prepare for the singularity!
