*It was just announced that John Clarke has won the Nobel prize in physics. Damn, I was just one e short of winning a Nobel prize! Incidentally, although I'd like to believe that I'm Arthur C Clarke's illegitimate son it's not true, although my father's name was Arthur E Clark. I wish I had an unusual name like Eliezer Yudkowsky instead of John (yawn) Clark, I remember telling Eliezer that years ago when he was thinking of changing his name to Joe Blow or something equally boring. *
