I agree, all this Greek ancestor worship that I see around here is just nuts and stifles original thought . The idea that we can solve today's cutting edge scientific questions by reading what some Greek said 2500 years ago is just idiotic.

They were entertainers, I sometimes watch The Simpsons but it doesn't help me understand Quantum Mechanics.

And Niccolo Tucci was a ignoramus on scientific matters too, I say that for 2 reasons:

1) Given that he was a writer for The New Yorker magazine in 1947 we can conclude that he was probably a English major, or worse a Political Science major.

2) In 1947 the Double Helix hadn't been discovered yet, and 96% of the very universe itself had not been discovered, they hadn't found Dark Matter or Dark Energy; even Einstein didn't know about that.
