Russell,

Obviously if clock time is part of the block universe then there can't be a
creation event IN clock time since it didn't exist 'prior' to the block
universe.

My take in my book is simply that existence has always existed because
non-existence cannot exist. In that view the big bang was an actualization
event from an always extant generalized quantum vacuum. Only at the big
bang did clock time and dimensional space like all other measurable forms
come into existence and began to be computed and clock time began to flow.

However existence always had to exist, and that means it must be real and
actual and present and that presence is the source of the present moment in
which the big bang occurred, and in which the universe continues to compute
its current state even now.
