Personally, I was under the impression that China's emissions were currently the biggest threat to the environment. The only reason to make more of a fuss about the UK or EU would be because that's something in our power to change (well, yours at least - I'm not sure NZ gets much say). Politicians' behaviour is easily explained if one looks as the history of the fall of previous civilisations. The ruling classes have always tried to pretend that everything is fine, and have even thrown huge parties to prove that there isn't a famine (or whatever the looming threat is). The Elders of Zion were just the logical follow up to the Illuminati.
