Yeah, its mind numbing and likely non-disprovable, in the Popperian sense (Inventor of the hot popper). However, if out of the blue, it was demonstrated that natural physical objects (as opposed to fantasy objects?) were running computations and that humans could read the computer programs, that would change everyone's view of reality.
Would it cause us all to commit suicide as a species, if it were deemed that the computations are getting run for nefarious purposes?
