He was a smart guy, and willing to discuss his beliefs without any intent to proselytise. He never started that conversation, I was the one curious about it. Once he was insisting with me that I should try some new import beer that he just got. I asked him how could he encourage me to drink, if he was my friend and believed that to be a sin. He said: "you are lucky. you don't know any better, so Allah doesn't mind".
