We can calculate the wave function exactly but the wave function does not determine exactly how matter will behave. As far as the Black Hole information paradox goes solving that is one of the deepest problems in cutting edge physics. It all boils down to the fact that General Relativity and Quantum Mechanics, although both work great on their own, don't work well together.
