The Right to Life people have a point, but their politics are horrible. For one thing I think the language should be changed, where an abortion is not made into a crime, but rather a tragedy. The criminalization of abortion will in the end accomplish the reverse of what the R2L people claim to want. Nations with the most liberal of abortion laws actually have the lowest rates of abortion. Nations with the most restrictive have higher abortion rates, and these are usually dangerous unqualified procedures. Nations where contraception and women have the greatest access to control over their reproductive health have lower rates of abortion and healthier outcomes for pregnancies. What Ben and Spud are in favor of is increased ignorance, control of people, particularly women, and for a society more beset with poverty. Interestingly this is what religious leaders want. The last thing they want is equitable social conditions, for social conditions of strife and pain tend to bring more people to their knees in churches and their tithes in the collection plates. The call for moral behavior based on religion is absurd. They think there is a God who fathomed the depths of nothingness into a quantum gravitational fluctuation of the universe which gave rise to this world. Then in all of these complexities, this God is all angry over whether a guy is watching pornography or is having sex with another guy or that guy over there is wearing a dress and looks pretty good. It is laughably absurd. It is well documented in the animal world the homosexual or bisexual behavior exist as does transgenderism and so forth. It seems to be stamped on the nature of animal behavior. As for pornography, there are places in Paris where you can watch it on stage. It has been around for a long time. Again, a God that generated this cosmology that is all fuming mad about this is crazy. It would be as if I were to get angry at some ants in my ant farm are "doing it wrong." If you are not into these things, just stay away from the gay bars, avoid drag shows and don't log onto porn sites. Is that so hard?
