I would say that until we can exclude this factor via scientific measure, we also must run on QFT. Advances will continue in QC, I am just surprised and pleased that the digital continues along with the quantum. Of course photonics are quantum, so maybe we are down to jargon?

Well yeah, quantum mechanics is behind everything, even a diesel engine, but you can build and repair one even if you knew nothing about quantum mechanics, and you can program a conventional computer, even one made with Memristors without making use of weird quantum principles, but that is not the case with a real quantum computer. To program a quantum computer you'd have to know some quantum mechanics.
