Going all futurist on this, Dirk, it may be a smart move to adjust to any inundations by doing things like cities upon the sea (not so much under 3000 meter deep sea floor cities. Also build gravity flow water towers at sea to create a hydroelectric pumped storage electricity supply for those on land. We'd principally use wind turbines to do this, and why not combine sea cities and water towers??
