I have also tried it for technology questions and the proggies don't keep up with newer data even if you supply it to GPT3. My examples were fission and fusion. It can only do what it is told!! Informed!!!

If you are given a lousy position to take in a debate you can't really make a "good" argument, but my point was that ChatGPT can make the best of a bad situation and make an argument at least as well as a human can, and certainly far better if time is a consideration because ChatGPT can think on its feet very quickly.
