In Trump's press conference yesterday, he stated he wouldn't support a outright ban on the polio vaccine, but he was strongly opposed to vaccine "mandates". And RFK Jr. has recently disavoved his suport of a ban on the polio vaccines. But mandates have been the method to achieve Herd Immunity. While RFK Jr will continue to create foster public mistrust of vaccines, and Trump will endorse a ban on mandates as supporting the "freedom to choose", we are likely on the brink of destroying Herd Immunity for these fatal diseases. I project there exists a sufficient percent of devout MAFA supporters, who will unwittingly follow their guru, leading to the demise of Herd Immunity. And while it's true that the States are the primary administrators in control of education where the mandates are enforced, the Federal government strongly finances education in the various States, along with other subsides, Trump has the power to coerse the States to ban vaccine mandates.
