Sad. Well I hope I explained the reasons of high requirements we have. You still have time to participate in GNOME and in Evince in particular. Join irc, fix bugs. You have a few weeks to become experienced contributor and to be accepted. We would be glad to help you to understand FOSS development, gain programming experience and became involved.
