Sascha, As far I know, the only PDF that are supposed to be viewed identically on different systems are the ones that are PDF/A Documents, because the fonts are included on the same file. You can create this kind of files (PDF/A-1) with OpenOffice.org 2.3.1 or a later version.[1]
You can test it if you want. Anyway, about the configuration of the fonts for other PDF I don't have idea. -- Juanjo Marín [1]http://www.oooninja.com/2008/01/generating-pdfa-for-long-term-archiving.html El vie, 23-01-2009 a las 08:22 +0100, Sascha Heid escribió: > Hi List! > > I have evince-2.22.2 running on Ubuntu Hardy and evince-2.24.2 on > Gentoo-Linux. > 2.24.2 has much bolder uglier fonts on the same pdf and i would like to > fix that obviously. > Since its Gentoo-Linux there is of course the possibility i forgot > something or made some mistake. > These are the packages on Gentoo-Linux: > > [ebuild R ] x11-libs/cairo-1.8.6 USE="X cleartype glitz opengl svg > xcb -debug -directfb -doc" 0 kB > [ebuild R ] app-text/poppler-0.10.3 USE="-doc" 0 kB > [ebuild R ] app-text/evince-2.24.2 USE="dbus djvu dvi nautilus tiff > -debug -doc -gnome-keyring -t1lib" 0 kB > > And here is a screenshot: > > evince-2.22.2 > http://img401.imageshack.us/my.php?image=2222cz4.png > > evince-2.24.2 > http://img156.imageshack.us/my.php?image=2242lt6.png > > > The gnome font settings are identical on both systems. > > Does anyone have an idea what causes these kind of differences? > > Greetings, > Sascha > > _______________________________________________ > Evince-list mailing list > [email protected] > http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evince-list -- Juan José Marín Martínez Tlf: 956009437 (Corp. 409437) Fax: 956009445 (Corp. 409445) Informática.
