Works for me with Evo 2.2.3.

Thus, it seems to be an issue with your local version, the FC4 package.
Please complain to your distro vendor. ;-)

FWIW, I do get that error message only, when trying to save to "file",
rather than "file.ics". It works for me in both cases, with and without
that manually added extension.

If anything else fails and you want it fast: Go grab it from disk. :)

Your Calendars are stored in ~/.evolution/calendar/local/ in iCalendar
(.ics) format, the "Personal" one is in the system/ folder, any other
one is hiding in one of the "strangely" named folders.

To be absolutely sure there is no unsaved data in memory (which might be
changed shortly before), close Evo and run 'evolution --force-shutdown'
to shutdown e-d-s and make it sync to disk.
