I've found some of the later releases quite unstable too. (2.5 series runs for around 5min and then just dies (not sure if its eds, evo or connector) but the libsoup version for this release is 2.2.7 and can be found at www.gnome.org/projects/evolution (I think the ftp.ximian.com releases are a bit old as its all hosted at gnome.org now.
