The mbox files under /evolution/mail are email folders containing multiple messages each. You can delete them. Also delete the .ev-summary and .ev-summary-meta files or Evo will complain about "folder/summary mismatch". Or just delete them from within Evo. Right-click on a folder and select "Delete" from the pop-up. Much safer. BYW you shouldn't normally have a Trash folder. Trash in Evo is a virtual folder (i.e. a specific view of the deleted messages in your other folders). If you have a physical Trash file it may have been created by some other mail client but Evo won't treat it specially and in particular won't put deleted messages in it. Do you see two different Trash icons from the Evo GUI? > Would I need to recreate an empty file with the same name or will it be > recreated automatically? Evo will recreate the summary and index files if necessary, but of course won't create deleted folders/files it knows nothing about. > Is it enough to close Evolution with quit, or are other services running > in the background? There are several other processes running. To close Evo completely, either log out or run "evolution --force-shutdown" from the Shell, before manipulating the .evolution directory manually. poc _______________________________________________ Evolution-list mailing list [email protected] http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/evolution-list
