PS: There's one exceptional case when dconf is more pleasant, if you just want to change a few items by a script, then gsettings could be an advantage compared to e.g. usage of sed and perhaps the requirement to restart an app, OTOH there are likely several other disadvantages of dconf, one that comes into my mind right now is the advantage of human readable files to sort the content and add user specific comments, you can't archive this that easy with dconf, if at all.
