I have had a similar issue, I was using the Adwaita-dark controls (which seems to affect the back and fore colours of the Evo mail message) and after receiving an update to my NVidia graphics driver and having rebooted after that update, suddenly the reversed body text area of Evo changed so that emails that normally had white background and black text now have white background and pale grey text making it very difficult to see. Prior to the NVidia graphics driver update all emails that had white backgrounds had black text not pale grey. Yet others (which presumably didn't declare whether their background was white and their text black), would appear as black background with the pale grey text and again this was OK because it fitted in with my desire to have everything pale text on a black background. I think it may be people who use MS Outlook and have set their background colurs and for some reason whatever it is in Gnome that handles this does not change the background to black, but does make the text pale grey??
Is there a setting somewhere that you can set to force all backrounds to black and text white or pale grey?
