I spoke with ambiguity. "it wouldn't affect Squirrelmail" means that your assumption was correct, the Junk vFolder would not clean up the INBOX as viewed by Squirrelmail (stated as agreeing with you on this shortcoming with the "Junk as vFolder" concept).
