You could always just run 2 seperate screens....not quite as nice, but Xinerama doesn't just crash evo for me - my whole box dies (no time to figure it out).....this way I've got evo/galeon on the larger monitor, and the secondary is a couple xterms, gkrellm, gnomeicu, etc.
