I wasn't ever talking about leaving out the "-- " (although I think if I
really wanted that, the mailer should let me do it), I only meant I want
it inserted somewhere else but before the content of the signature file.
So I'd just like to insert it myself. 

I left my signature below the way Evolution currently mangles it. As you
can see, there's a second -- before my name. That is because my name is
actually part of the signature file (being lazy, very simply). I want my
name to appear before the --, but I still want only one --. Clear?
